Public Engagement

Hallmark works with clients to create robust public engagement strategies to elevate ideas and challenges across projects. We begin by determining the breadth of stakeholders, identifying their influence, and creating a strategic plan that matches different techniques to different audiences. Engagement techniques include interactive meetings and project websites, focus groups, and creative building activities. Depending on the client’s needs, these strategies are redesigned to solicit feedback or buy-in from the public.

Placemaking​

Hallmark works with partners from public, private, nonprofit, and community sectors to strategically shape the physical and social character through public art and cultural engagement activities. Creative placemaking animates streetscapes and public spaces, improves public safety, and brings diverse people together to maintain a healthy, safe environment. Creative placemaking in communities tends to be at the intersection of arts, culture, community development, and economic development, which are vital to improving urban neighborhoods’ quality of life, mobility, and socioeconomic development. 

Community Planning​

When we plan for a community, we plan to host live, work, play, worship, dine, shop, and talk to each other. Hallmark helps identify community priorities through a comprehensive planning process. The Process generally comprises data collection & analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats, and Strategic Planning facilitation. The planning process includes a long-range planning process.

Environmental Justice​

The most significant environmental harms and risks in urban communities are (1) disproportionate exposure to environmental hazards and (2) increased vulnerability to hazards.  Environmental liability and risk are disproportionately experienced by minority, low-income, tribal, or indigenous populations, and communities.   By implementing engagement strategies, Hallmark helps organizations create healthy social-economic places by providing education and awareness to environmental justice communities.
